Angela Marie Rocchio is a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is passionate about sacred music, particularly Renaissance polyphony and Gregorian chant.
After earning her degree from St. Thomas Aquinas College in California, Angela devoted herself to the study of sacred music, which took her all over the country and eventually overseas, where she studied Gregorian chant under Dom Saulnier at the Benedictine Abbey in Solesmes, France. Angela’s motivating purpose is to bring beauty and meaning into the lives of others through her music.
Angela has two decades of extensive experience in the performance of sacred music. She has served as a cantor in large and small parishes, including some of the most impressive Cathedrals and churches to be found, and on live international television. As an educator and parish music director, Angela developed a variety of successful music programs for children and adults.
Currently, Angela is a soprano section leader and soloist for the choirs of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis. She is one of the original members of Pro-Arte Saint Louis, a professional vocal ensemble specializing in the historically-informed performance of Early Music, for which her extensive knowledge of Chant is valued.
When not singing and coordinating musical activities, Angela enjoys cooking and throwing dinner parties with her husband, crochet and calligraphy, long walks in the great outdoors, salad-in-a-jar parties, and thoughtful conversations with friends over long cups of tea or coffee.
